The Stardust Theatre is home to Theater West performances staged by local performers and theatrical groups. It also is the scene for dance revues put on by the talented Rhythm Tappers and other local dance groups. A continuing series of classic feature films, along with travel presentations are shown here.

The Arizona Broadway Theater features live musicals and shows, and redefines Dinner Theater.

The West Valley Symphony presents 5 concerts annually November through March at Valley Vista Performing Arts Center in Surprise. It is composed of professional musicians, many of whom play for the Phoenix Symphony, Arizona Opera, and others.

The Heard Museum, featuring Native American art and artifacts, is 45 minutes away in downtown Phoenix.

Baseball, football and hockey are all popular local sports. Downtown Phoenix is home to the Arizona Diamondbacks baseball and Phoenix Suns basketball teams. There are several venues nearby (as close as Surprise and Peoria) for Cactus League Spring Training baseball.

The Phoenix Coyotes play in the Jobing.com Arena and are just 30 minutes from Sun City West. Next to it is the University of Phoenix domed stadium for the Arizona Cardinals football team. The Waste Management Phoenix Open (formerly the FBR Open) is one of the nation’s first major golf tournaments each year, and various other PGA and LPGA tour events take place in the Valley of the Sun.
